How membership works

BorrowPortal is not an open marketplace. Everyone who can see your address and borrow your things has been through the same application you did, which is the only reason lending to a stranger three doors down is a reasonable thing to do.

What the review looks at

• A real name and a deliverable email address.
• A neighbourhood and postal code we actually cover.
• A short list of things you would be willing to lend.
• Confirmation that you are 18 or older.

Most applications are decided within two business days. You get an email either way, and a rejected application can be revised and sent back.
